A Vision for
Transformative Impact
The next five years of the Dallenbach Professorship will focus on scaling proven models, deepening community trust, and pioneering new frontiers in health equity.
Strategic Pillars
Building on the foundation of the last five years, the renewal period will be defined by scaling impact. We will move from pilot programs to systemic interventions, from local engagement to national policy influence, and from individual research projects to institutional centers of excellence.
Deepening Community Trust
Institutionalizing the "Communiversity" model to ensure long-term, reciprocal partnerships.
Elevating Policy Influence
Translating research findings into actionable policy briefs for state and federal legislators.
Expand Communiversity Science™
Scale the Communiversity Science™ model to 5 new cities by 2028, establishing a national network of community-academic partnerships that prioritize local knowledge and equitable resource distribution.
Expand DREAM Communiversity
Supported by an $849K pending grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services, we will expand the Communiversity model for youth and families, advancing the new frontier of education in Illinois.
Geo-Infrastructure Resilience
As Co-PI on a pending $30 million NSF Science and Technology Center grant (GREEN), we will develop smart sensing and sustainable solutions for geo-infrastructure resilience.
The Black Women's Data Archive
Complete the digitization and analysis of 800,000+ historical documents using advanced AI/ML techniques to reconstruct the health histories of Black women in the Midwest.
Partner in this Vision
The Kathryn Lee Baynes Dallenbach Professorship has been the catalyst for this work. Renewal will ensure these initiatives not only continue but expand to meet the urgent challenges of our time.
